The Role

As a Senior Fine Tuner Engineer, you will lead and support the assembly, installation, commissioning, testing and fine-tuning of automated machines and production lines. You will ensure machines meet required performance, quality, reliability and customer specifications, while troubleshooting technical issues, optimising machine performance and supporting customer acceptance. You will also provide technical guidance to Fine Tuner Engineers and technicians.

Key Responsibilities:

Machine Assembly, Installation & Commissioning

• Lead and support machine assembly, setup, installation and commissioning at factory and customer sites.
• Supervise machine setup and integration to ensure equipment is correctly configured, installed and operating safely.
• Work with Mechanical, Electrical, Controls, Software and other engineering teams to resolve technical issues.
• Support final machine and production-line acceptance with customers.

Fine-Tuning & Performance Optimisation

• Troubleshoot, fine-tune, calibrate and optimise machines to achieve required performance, cycle time, quality and reliability.
• Identify root causes of technical issues during testing, commissioning and production ramp-up.
• Implement improvements to optimise machine performance and reduce downtime.
• Support continuous machine and process improvement throughout the project lifecycle.

Testing & Quality Control

• Lead and support pre-acceptance testing before machine shipment.
• Support Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) and customer acceptance activities.
• Perform quality and functional checks during assembly, installation, commissioning and fine-tuning.
• Ensure machines meet approved specifications, performance requirements and quality standards.
• Identify testing deviations and coordinate corrective actions.

Customer Collaboration & Communication

• Act as a key technical contact for customers during installation, commissioning, fine-tuning and acceptance.
• Provide technical support, updates and practical solutions to customer requirements.
• Provide on-site training on machine operation, basic troubleshooting and maintenance.
• Support the Project Manager with technical matters and customer expectations.

Problem Solving & Technical Support

• Provide technical leadership and troubleshooting support for complex machine and production-line issues.
• Conduct root-cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Work with multidisciplinary engineering teams to resolve technical challenges.
• Provide technical guidance to Fine Tuner Engineers and technicians.
• Escalate critical issues and support timely resolution to minimize project delays and downtime.

Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain records of machine performance, testing, fine-tuning, modifications and technical issues.
• Prepare technical and machine performance reports.
• Ensure technical changes and modifications are properly documented and communicated.
• Contribute to fine-tuning procedures, work instructions and technical documentation.

Team Support & Continuous Improvement

• Coach and provide technical guidance to Fine Tuner Engineers and technicians.
• Share technical knowledge and best practices.
• Identify opportunities to improve machine performance, troubleshooting methods and project execution.
• Contribute to initiatives that improve performance, quality and customer satisfaction.

Skills and Experiences

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Automation or a related technical discipline.
• Experience in machine assembly, commissioning, fine-tuning, troubleshooting or automation equipment.
• Hands-on experience with automated machines, production lines or special-purpose machinery.
• Good understanding of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and automation systems.
• Experience in machine testing, commissioning, troubleshooting and performance optimization.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings, electrical drawings, pneumatic diagrams and technical documentation.
• Strong problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills.
• Experience working with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Good communication skills with customers and internal stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of technical issues.
• Good command of written and spoken English.
• Willingness to travel extensively, including international travel, for customer-site installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and acceptance activities.
