For the IMA SpA Testing Department, we are looking for a Mechanical Workshop Test Technician.
The Testing Department centrally supports the Group by carrying out the testing and inspection of manufactured mechanical components destined for both internal customers (Division Assembly Departments) and external customers.
Location: Ozzano dell’Emilia (Bologna), Italy.
The Role
- Assess the accuracy and efficiency of mechanical component manufacturing processes, identifying and managing any non-conformities and returns in collaboration with the Engineering Department.
- Evaluate heat treatment and surface finishing processes, ensuring compliance with functional requirements and any applicable industry regulations and standards.
- Work closely with the Engineering and Industrialization Departments to optimize and fine-tune manufacturing processes.
- Use 3D measurement and inspection equipment to perform dimensional surveys and quality checks on mechanical components.
- Manage the calibration and control equipment used within the Testing, Assembly, and Workshop Departments, including monitoring calibration due dates, coordinating collection and shipment to accredited bodies, and handling the return and redistribution of instruments.
Experience & Skills
- Technical Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related mechanical field.
- Approximately 10 years of experience in similar roles, ideally within testing/inspection departments or mechanical workshop environments.
- Excellent ability to read and interpret technical drawings and engineering documentation.
What Will Set You Apart
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative approach and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Certification in Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) methodologies is considered an asset.
- Previous experience using CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machines) and other CNC-based 3D inspection systems.
- Good working knowledge of the English language, both written and spoken.
Compensation Package
The starting gross annual salary (RAL) will be €33,000, under the provisions of the Italian National Collective Labour Agreement (CCNL) for the Metalworking Industry.
A higher compensation package may be offered based on the candidate’s experience and qualifications, in accordance with objective and gender-neutral evaluation criteria.
